Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She was first known for her role in Tezaab from the 1980s, in which she co-starred along with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Her subsequent appearance on screen was in Dil with Aamir. As a young girl growing up in Mumbai's middle-class, she started to dance. When she was in her early years when she first started to act as a child actress, most films that she made weren't successful. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and she was one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film business. After marriage, she experienced a break in her career before re-entering the business. More recently she played in a crucial role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was awarded 8 Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. She was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Also, she is well acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
